C. Lynne Smith is Unusual.
If Patsy Cline, Melissa Etheridge and Janis Joplin had a child she would be it. Her dynamic, soulful vocals combined
with intricate guitar picking perfectly compliment her thoughtful lyrics.
Her style ranges from traditional country with a modern feel to folk rock and beyond. Her inspiration for creating
music comes from a life well lived. From highs to lows, C. Lynne will drag you through the dirt, help you stand then
show you the beauty being alive.
C. Lynne grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania listening, learning and singing along with family from
the time she was born. She won a talent contest for singing Cher’s “I hate to sleep alone” in the sixth grade. Her life
took many paths and careers but always included singing and playing the guitar. Songwriting came later as hard times
brought out the need to put words to the music and that was how her first album ‘Real’ was born.
Having no background in recording music she set out to create her first album in her home studio aka the bedroom.
From writing, setting up, singing, playing, recording, mixing, mastering and producing the final package C. Lynne
managed the impossible and produced a much sought after CD.
A prolific songwriter and multi-instrumentalist C. Lynne has yet to be cornered into a single genre. Her music comes
from life and it doesn't all sound like a country song. She writes songs of love, heartache, anger, peace, war within
and without, awareness of humanity and our planet and everything in between.
C. Lynne performs in the PA, NJ, NY & DE area. She has opened for The Outlaws and Jonatha Brooke, played solo
shows, benefits and with other bands on request. All five songs from her debut album ‘Real’ were released as singles
and have received airplay in both the U.S and Overseas. She has been featured on WSTW Hometown Heros 93.7fm
(DE) , WCFA 101.5fm Cape May and Cruisin 92.1fm radio stations.
Currently she is working on an Acoustic Album comprised of songs from over 10 yrs of songwriting. C. Lynne’s new
album will take a departure from her country roots lending itself to a Folk Rock acoustic exploration, live and raw.
“The masterful combination of lyrics, music, and vocals make this a must have in anyone's collection. In the first three
songs (Real, Where Are You Now, and When) I could feel her pain while getting goose bumps from the excellent
writing and moving music. The last two songs (One More Heartache and Time Won't Wait) are toe tapping, knee
slapping and a whole lot of fun. Definitely an Artist to be watched! ” CW
